Meet the Inventor of the First Dune Buggy, the Meyers Manx
"I think the message of the car is fun."

So says Bruce Meyers, the man who invented the Meyers Manx, which you may more readily recognize as the dune buggy. Based upon the humble underpinnings of the long-running, air-cooled Volkswagen Beetle, the Manx offers beauty in the form of simplicity. Its tub-like fiberglass shell sits on a rolling chassis that houses trailing-link suspension that allows it to travel on smooth roads, rough roads and no roads, and it stands as an icon of the Swingin' 60s, as does its creator.

Want to hear how the original Meyers Manx dune buggy came to be out of the mouth of the man who spawned it? Of course you do.
