Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO Motorsport Collectors Edition Arrives in Time for F1 Singapore GP
The C192 second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT is getting a cool limited series just in time to celebrate F1's Singapore Grand Prix, and of course, it has an extensively long name: Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4Matic+ 'Motorsport Collectors Edition.'

The original Mercedes-AMG GT coupe was introduced in September 2014 before its official public debut in October of that year at the Paris Motor Show. The two-door sports car didn't replace the SLS AMG that came before it and instead carved its own route – competing in the more 'affordable' price bracket of the Porsche 911. During its lifetime, which lasted almost an entire decade, it got treated to a multitude of variants – including coupe and Roadster, GT S, C, R, R Pro, Dark Knight Edition, Black Series, Track Series, and GT3 Edition 55 or GT2 Pro.

The second generation – twinned with the Mercedes-AMG SL will only live as a 2+2 two-door coupe, but we're sure it won't lack model variants, even if none of them will be a convertible. Well, Mercedes-AMG is kicking off the proceeds with the highly exclusive GT 63 PRO 4Matic+ Motorsport Collectors Edition, just ahead of the debut of the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix on September 22. The event, part of the regular Formula One World Championship schedule, takes place on the Marina Bay Street Circuit and is tucked between the Azerbaijan GP and the popular United States GP.

The new special edition is limited to just 200 examples worldwide and has a logical connection to the Mercedes‑AMG Petronas F1 Team, starting with the base obsidian black metallic body shade inspired by the current Formula 1 racing car. There's also a hand-painted star pattern with silver Mercedes stars on the rear flanks, the Petronas-colored decorative stripes and trim, contrasting elements, plus 21‑inch AMG forged wheels with a matte black finish and cross-spoke design.

Even the latter get Petronas-colored rim flanges plus matching-color brake calipers for the AMG ceramic composite system fitted with six-piston fixed calipers for the 420-mm discs at the front and one-piston floating calipers at the rear. The high-performance sports car also rides on 295 and 305 tires at the front and rear – which are of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R Cup variety. Last but not least, there's also a standard AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber package, panoramic glass roof, and the AMG Aerodynamics package, plus the AMG Night Package II.

Moving inside, the special touches consist of additional Petronas-colored details, standard AMG Performance seats dressed in black Nappa leather/Microcut fiber with Petronas topstitching, and embossed AMG crests in the headrests. Carbon trim elements adorn the cockpit, and there's also a heated AMG Performance steering wheel, a Burmester High End 3D Surround Sound System (15 speakers, 1,170 watts), AMG Track Pace, plus the Energizing package or the Guard 360 vehicle monitoring system.

The new Mercedes‑AMG GT 63 PRO 4Matic+ Motorsport Collectors Edition continues to use the AMG 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine but gets 612 ps or 603 hp instead of the standard 577 on the regular Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4Matic+ Coupe because it's the Pro version. Cool, right?
