Mercedes-AMG Project One gets a custom Cigarette speedboat to match
Now that Mercedes-AMG has released its latest sports car, the Project One with its F1 engine, it was only natural that its long-time boat-building partner Cigarette Racing would have a special boat to go with it.

It's called the 515 Project One, and like the car, it's silver, and it's fast.

Powering the boat is a pair of Mercury Racing 1,350/1,550 engines. They're twin-cam V8s that each make 1,350 horsepower on 91-octane fuel, and 1,550 on racing fuel. That means a total output of between 2,700 and 3,100 horsepower. Built with copious amounts of fiberglass and Kevlar in the boat's body, the 515 Project One is capable of a top speed of 140 mph. As impressive as those figures are, they're a little less shocking when you realize that this engine combo has been used on past AMG-inspired Cigarette Racing boats.

Still it is really fast, and the paint job won't let you forget the boat is designed to match the AMG Project One. It's painted silver with matte black accents to match the road car, though it sadly lacks the teal blue highlights the car has as a tribute to the F1 racers. The interior also sees plenty of carbon fiber and Dinamica fabrics, both of which are frequently used in Mercedes cars. The boat can carry more people than the Project One hypercar, with space for six people total.

Pricing was not made public for the special-edition boat, instead it will be made available upon request. We take that to mean it will be really, really expensive. But hey, that's one more way it'll be like the road car.
