Mercedes-Benz Spruces Up New-Model Configurator, AMG Web Site
Mercedes-Benz is kicking off the New Year with a redesigned new-model configurator on its corporate page as well as a refreshed Mercedes-AMG Web site.

The vehicle configurator for new Mercedes-Benz models allows Web site visitors to pick out everything from interior trim to wheels and check them in 360-degree night and daytime views. The high-definition tool gives realistic close-ups of the car's hand-finished interior leather stitching, while an integrated video TechCenter feature educates users on different technical details as they design.

Mercedes-Benz keeps cost and financing options up-to-date as features are added, and customers are provided with a personal online code to share the configuration with friends or sales staff when they are done.

Mercedes-AMG's online presence is also getting revamped this holiday season. Internet surfers will find news, brand history and a 360-degree visualization tool that shows each model in a variety of environments on the new Web site. It has more than 1,000 pages of content, and users are now able to share their experience thanks to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube and Pinterest social media integration.

All of the mobile-friendly content is available in German and English with more languages to follow.

AMG owners will continue to have access to the AMG Private Lounge, a Web-based platform designed solely for drivers of the high-performance specialty division. Perks include access to a discussion forum, a guided tour of the Affalterbach headquarters and even the chance to meet the engineer who worked on the actual engine under the hood of the vehicle. The community currently comprises 19,000 AMG owners in over 70 countries.
