Mercedes E63 AMG and BMW M5 Go Head 2 Head
Beefed-up luxury sedans have plenty in common, but which is better?

After a Pagani Huayra gave Motor Trend’s Jonny Lieberman cause to jizz in his pants, we fear the worst for the pair of high-performance German sedans in the latest edition of Head 2 Head. The super saloons on trial are the Mercedes E63 AMG S-Model and the BMW M5 packing the Competition Package, while partner-in-crime for the day is Mike Shaffer. On paper, the cars appear evenly matched: the twin-turbo V8s both put out around 575 hp and weigh between 4300-4500 lbs.Yet they reach supercar levels of performance with mid-three 0-100 km/h times and the quarter-mile in the elevens. Suspicious of the claimed outputs, the potent sedans are dyno tested before heading to the canyon roads. So who's your money on? M-Performance or AMG?
