Mitsubishi e-Evolution Flagship Concept Teased
The "very high performance automobile" will take the shape of a coupe-SUV.

Mitsubishi has kicked off the teaser campaign for a brand new concept it will have on display towards the end of next month at the Tokyo Motor Show. Previewing an all-new flagship for the brand, the e-Evolution has been envisioned as a real performance car with an electric powertrain and four-wheel drive – all wrapped up in the controversial coupe-SUV body style. The implementation of "advanced artificial intelligence technology" likely refers to an autonomous driving system.

The adjacent teaser image is showing a five-door SUV with a generous ground clearance riding on massive alloy wheels, typical for a concept car. The door handles are hidden while cameras come to replace conventional side mirrors to give the body a sleek profile. At the back, the two extensions of the roof-mounted spoiler give the illusion of flying buttresses and there are snazzy LED taillights with graphics that look like a tri-blade boomerang. We can also catch a glimpse of the diffuser with light blue accents also noticeable on the "e-Evolution" logo to further denote the concept has an electric heart.
