Mont Choisy Beach: Vehicles not Allowed!
It will not be possible to move between the casuarinas Mont Choisy in the days to come. This was decided by the "Beach Authority" due to advanced deterioration, due to erosion of the beach.

Vehicles and sellers no longer have access to the most popular beach in northern Mauritius, said a statement issued today by the regulatory authority of the beaches.

This public beach, one of the largest and busiest in the country, is experiencing severe erosion for months. So if nothing is done immediately "will disappear in a few decades," warns the director of BA, Subash Seeruttun.

1.5 km long, beach of Mont Choisy will therefore now only accessible by foot. Part of a parking area, and still under construction along the road to Mont Choisy, will open next week. Vendors will move to that location.

Twenty merchants currently operating on the beach and they will now move on to the parking area. The rehabilitation of the beach of Mont Choisy will start in a few weeks. Other beaches in Mauritius, we think Trou aux Biches, should, in the coming weeks be affected by measures of protection / restoration.
