The New BMW M4 CS Is Only For Spain, For Some Reason
Early last month we found out BMW would soon reveal a new version of its M4 coupe, and it would receive an iconic moniker, the CS.

Of course we got all excited and figured a new M4 CS could serve as a go-between from the standard M4 and the water-injected M4 GTS track animal. So, the good news is that, yes, BMW has revealed the new M4 CS. Bad news is that it’s limited solely for the Spanish domestic market. Oh, and only 60 examples are being made, all of which are individually numbered.

Basically, the M4 CS is exactly what we thought it would be: a more civilized M4 GTS. Offered only with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, power from the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six has been increased to 450 hp (up from 431 hp). Our colleagues from Spanish motoring site Motorpasion have told us that other new features include exclusive 20-inch wheels, standard carbon ceramic brakes, a rear spoiler similar to what’s found on the GTS, a carbon fiber front splitter and air curtains, rear diffuser, blacked out kidney grilles and side mirrors, and a new seat design for improved grip. Removed from the GTS to reduce weight, the rear seat has returned.

Exterior color choices include Brilliant White, San Marino Blue or Jerez Black. BMW M media relations manager Benjamin Titz also told us the M4 CS, in a nutshell, includes the M4 Competition Package with M Performance Parts. Lastly, top speed has been increased from 155 mph to 174 mph. Pricing? Well, that’s another thing. Get this: €132,900. The standard M4 begins at €92,099 in Spain. Deliveries are set to begin shortly.
