The new Mazda CX-5 has been officially confirmed to be launched in Japan in February.

The new model and its accessories' brochure has been leaked online, courtesy livedoor Blog. Two units were even spotted in a parking lot.

The JDM-spec 2017 Mazda CX-5 measures 4,545 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width and 1,690 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. It will be available with the 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 114 kW (155 PS) and 196 Nm of torque, the 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder petrol engine tuned to deliver 140 kW (190 PS) and 251 Nm of torque in 2WD model and 135 kW (184 PS) and 245 Nm of torque in 4WD model and the 2.2-litre SKYACTIV-D four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 129 kW (175 PS) and 420 Nm of torque.

In other markets as well, the new CX-5 will be sold with these three engines. The SKYACTIV engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. LED headlights, heated steering wheel, Active Driving Display head-up display, 4.6-inch color TFT LCD Multi-Information Display (MID), 7-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system and 10-speaker Bose premium sound system are some of the 2017 CX-5's highlights.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is built at the Ujina Plant No. 2 in Hiroshima, Japan, where production commenced on November 28. Its international launch will happen after its Japanese sales commence in February. The new Mazda CX-5 will be available in Soul Red Crystal, Machine Grey Premium Metallic, Jet Black Mica, Titanium Flash Mica, Sonic Silver Metallic, Deep Crystal Blue Mica, Eternal Blue Mica and Snowflake White Pearl Mica colours in Japan.

As a part of pre-sales promotion, the new generation CX-5 will be showcased at various locations in the country from December 15, 2016 to January 9, 2017.
