NTC: Xavier Duval Defends the CPB on Cancellation of Tender for 65 Buses
The finance minister has defended tooth and nail the Central Procurement Board at the PNQ this Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Concerning the exercise of bidding 65 bus, Xavier Duval said that everything was done properly.

The Central Procurement Board (CPB) has acted within the law. Statement of the Minister of Finance Xavier-Luc Duval in parliament this Tuesday, July 9, 2013, when the slice devoted to Private Notice Question (PNQ). The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the organization has complied with the law.

The Opposition Leader Alan Ganoo asked the Minister of Finance on the purchase of 65 buses of the National Transport Corporation. But also on the alleged interference of CPB. No. 3 Government argues that the CPB is an independent entity and the institution meets the regulations.

Xavier-Luc Duval dismissed out of hand, allegations of interference made against the Central Procurement Board. He said that a tender exercise was launched on 20 July 2012. The CPB has approved the recommendations of the Bid Evaluation Committee, but the offers were notably higher for one of the bidders. So the CPB decided to cancel the current year.

But the opposition could ask additional questions. They held a press conference in parliament after PNQ Alan Ganoo. The Leader of the Opposition expressed concerns about the tender for buses.

Alan Ganoo made history before bidding. According to him, everything was done to derail the exercise, arguing that the cost was 45% more expensive. He argues that there has been interference by the Ministry of Public Infrastructure.

The opposition denounced a similar exercise but emergency door on a bid on buses of the NTC.

"We have information that some of the acquisitions will be locally and abroad" , the alleged leader of the Opposition. Alan Ganoo hope that this exercise is done in a transparent manner.
