One of Ayrton Senna's Actual First Race Vehicles Is Up for Sale, and It's a Kart
Senna was racing for quite a while before he made it to F1. Formula 1 is a young man's sport, and in order for drivers to be really good by the time they're in their early twenties, most of them get started racing very young with karting.
Ayrton Senna was no different, and now one of the karts he used to propel himself into the big time of F1 is going up for auction. The 100cc two-stroke machine was the last kart ever used by the legend, as after this, he moved on to Formula Ford 1600.
Perhaps the most amazing thing is that Senna was karting with this in early 1981, and had moved all the way up to F1 by 1984.
