Barrett-Jackson, an auto auction house in Scottsdale, Ariz., will be conducting the sale of the pop culture icon, which was built as a concept car in 1955 by Ford.
It was later reworked for the program by famous car customizer George Barris, who had bought it from the company for one dollar in 1965. This will be the first time it has been up for sale since then.
The car sports a Lincoln V-8 engine and various accessories including a cable-cutter blade, “Bat Ray” projector, anti-theft device and “Batscope,” along with two rear-mounted 10-foot parachutes.
Barrett-Jackson had no estimate of its selling price in its announcement.
