First, Alan Ganoo asked, Tuesday 26 March 2013, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Cader Sayed Hossen, an estimate of the total amount to be collected by the State Trading Corporation (STC) this year, on different taxes on the price of petrol and diesel in comparison to the previous two years. It is, among other things, excise duties, the Value Added Tax (VAT), the Maurice Ile Durable- Levy and levies to subsidize the price of gas, flour and rice.
The opposition leader invite, then Minister of Trade and Industry to say whether the government intends to change the structure of fuel prices.
The second part will be devoted to the PNQ amounts paid to Betamax Ltd , to date, for delivery of petroleum products in Port-Louis. Minister Cader Sayed Hossen will also be required to disclose the profits made by the STC on the sale of fuel to the aviation industry, the Jet-A1 , notably in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
It will, eventually, the losses recorded by the STC on the exercise of hedging done in 2008.
