The police force is organizing the week for the safety of 23 to 28 August
The Safety Week, organized by the Mauritius Police Force (MPF) will be held from August 23 to 28, Pointe Canon, Mahebourg. A series of activities will be on the agenda at this time when the various police units will show the public their respective functions.

As in previous years, the main objective of the "Safety & Security Police Week" is to educate the public about crime prevention, while strengthening the links in the relationship between law enforcement and the public.

"We want, through this initiative, show that public perception towards the police is not what we think. We also have something to offer in terms of information, "argued Gaëtan Murthen, head of the Crime Prevention Unit (CPU).

The event will end August 28 with a Family Day with a parade of police units. It will begin at the church of Our Lady of the Angels until Sir Charles Gaëtan Duval Esplanade, Mahebourg.

"14 police units including the Police Band, the Special Mobile Force (SMF), the Groupement d'Intervention Police (GIPM), the Special Support Unit (SSU), the Police Helicopter Squadron, the National Coast Guard ( NCG) and the Police Dog Unit, will be present to explain the operation of their units, "said Darmarajen Mooroogan, the press service of the police.
