Range Rover Evoque Convertible Could Still Happen
Calling all hairdressers with a large bank account: a Range Rover Evoque convertible could be coming soon.

First things first, SUVs or crossovers turned into convertibles are not the greatest of ideas. Just look at the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet. Assuming you didn’t go blind while doing so, be prepared for another top-chopped SUV from none other than Land Rover. The Range Rover Evoque Convertible concept that premiered at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show could very well find its way to the production line very soon. The automaker is reportedly now in the final stages of deciding whether or not to give it the production green light.

We previously reported that an Evoque convertible wouldn’t happen, but Land Rover officials have so far refused to neither confirm nor deny this. While Nissan’s attempt at building the ultimate hairdresser’s SUV has turned out to be nothing but an embarrassing stain on an otherwise fine model lineup, the Evoque Convertible concept actually looked pretty decent. Although initial public opinion about the concept wasn’t all that enthusiastic, Land Rover still apparently sees dollar signs. The Evoque has set record sales for the brand since it debuted in 2011, and the idea of expanding that SUV a bit further is awfully tempting, financially speaking.
