Patent images of the South American-spec Renault Kwid reveal minimal changes to the model sold in India. It gets body coloured door handles, while the ground clearance appears a little lower. To pass the Latin NCAP tests, the Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid’s chassis could be slightly modified for better strength and rigidity.
The Kwid for Brazil is expected with the 0.8L engine, but with the added capability of running on ethanol. The Indian-spec model outputs 54 PS and 72 Nm of torque, with an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 25.17 km/l. A bigger 1.0L could also be introduced, which could be paired to an AMT.
The Kwid for the Brazilian market, in left-hand drive configuration will replace the two-generation old Renault Clio Mio, when it is launched next year, according to reports.
