Renault has unveiled the 2013 Scenic XMOD ahead of its live debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show, billing the crossover as a trendy replacement to its popular MPV. Combining the best bits of an MPV and a crossover, the XMOD has Renault's new family face with its angled narrow mustache grille, large Renault emblem, and almond-shaped headlights. There are new bumpers at both ends with LED daytime running lights up front, while the new Scenic XMOD also boasts a raised ride height and new protective body kit with brushed aluminum trim.
Complementing the new Scenic's offroad aesthetics, is Renault's all-new Grip Xtend system, offering the driver three modes to cope with different driving conditions, which is activated via rotary control positioned in the freshly kitted out interior's center console. The cabin also gets a new seven-inch R-Link touchscreen, while Renault also offers a Bose sound system and provides top spec models with a leather and Alcantara upholstery and flat-bottomed steering wheel. Without mentioning specific details, Renault says the Scenic XMOD will come with three new powertrains, including the brand-new TCe 130 Stop & Start engine that's 15 percent more efficient than the previous TCe unit.
After a public reveal at the Geneva Motor Show, the Scenic XMOD will hit European showrooms in the summer priced slightly higher than the standard Scenic.
