Spied: New Renault SUV
Following the reveal of the Captur, French automaker is hard at work preparing a new SUV.

What appears at first glance to be a test mule for the next-gen Renault Scenic is in fact a brand-new SUV project. The French carmaker recently revealed the Captur, a compact crossover based on the Clio, and its latest mid-size SUV is based on the next-gen Nissan Qashqai. The Scenic body of this particular prototype is simply a ruse to keep us off the scent. Evidence that this is a new SUV in the making is the bigger wheels and higher riding height. Renault has also added some weight to the roof and front fenders to stimulate increased weight distribution.

A concept of the as-yet-unnamed SUV is expected at September's Frankfurt Motor Show, with a production car slated for a year later in Paris. In the meantime watch this space for my spy shots as Renault continues testing its latest project.
