SsangYong Rolls Out All-New Tivoli Crossover
The new SsangYong Tivoli is the company's first all-new model since being taken over by Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra in 2011, and since the introduction of the compact, third-generation Korando in 2010.

Only the Tivoli takes things yet a size smaller to the subcompact B-segment, to take on the likes of the Nissan Juke, Chevy Trax, Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V and Jeep Renegade. Previewed by the XIV concepts showcased in Paris a few months ago and several before it, the Tivoli also wears sharper styling from any production model we've seen from SsangYong to date.

Packed with all the bells and whistles, the Tivoli is powered by a choice of 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines burning either gasoline or diesel, mated to either a manual or automatic six-speed transmission and driving either the front wheels or all four, depending on configuration.

Borrowing its name from the Italian town outside of Rome (not to mention the famous gardens in Copenhagen), the Tivoli is set to bow at the Geneva Motor Show in March before hitting European showrooms in the summer. After that, word has it that Mahindra aims to use it to launch SsangYong into the American market, reportedly designing the crossover to meet US regulations and registering the name with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
