Supercars Burn in Bangkok
Car transporter filled with exotics set ablaze during morning commute to Thailand’s capital.

A 200% import tax makes cars are expensive in Thailand. Supercars are a rare sight anywhere outside Bangkok, so passers-by in the capital’s neighboring province of Nakohn Ratchasima were excited to see a car transporter filled with millions of dollars’ worth of exotic metal on their morning commute to work. That was until it suddenly caught on fire engulfing a Ferrari 430 Scuderia, Lamborghini Murcielago, Bentley Continental Flying Spur, BMW X6 and two other high-end motors.

Another Bentley and Mercedes-Benz were spared damage, but those four cars alone are worth 100 million Baht, somewhere in the region of $3.3 million. The fire department finally put out the blaze and the driver is being questioned by local police as they investigate what caused the accident.
