This is apparently not the case in India, though, where a Delhi-based electronics firm has modified the world's cheapest car into what may be the world's cheapest police car. Complete with a stylish, red-white-and-blue light bar, Grand IJS Electronics debuted a police-spec Tata Nano at the International Security Expo in New Delhi.
It shouldn't come as a shock, but this Nano isn't meant for high-speed pursuit. According to Indian Autos Blog, it was designed for a special police unit, tasked with protecting the women and children of New Delhi. Prepping the Nano for this noble cause has meant outfitting it with the aforementioned light bar, along with sirens, while an 80-watt amp has been fitted to manage the power needs. A medical kit and flashlights are available as well, making this Nano more of a first responder than a proper police vehicle.
