The Tenders for LRT Launched in September

A delegation from the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) arrived in Mauritius in late January for discussions on advanced light rail project.
The Expression of Interest is set for February and the tenders will be launched in September, says the head of the Mass Transit Unit, Dr. Koshik Reesaul.

The initial mandate of Singaporeans will focus on identifying the route between Curepipe and Port Louis for the Light Rail System, the design of the project, the development of the study of economic viability, preparation of tender documents and possible extensions of the light rail to Grand Bay in the north and south to Mahebourg. Singaporeans determine the type of light rail as appropriate to the context and needs of Mauritius.
