These are the Top 10 Most Googled Car Brands of 2014
In some cases, for reasons that aren't immediately obvious. Google has published its end-of-year “Trends” reports, so obviously we jumped straight to the automotive section to see what cars and automakers people searched for in 2014.

We weren’t surprised to find Ford topping the chart, given the US carmaker released both the 2015 Mustang and 2015 F-150 this year. It also sold over two million vehicles through November. Number 2 on the list is Jeep. You’d think that would be down to the Renegade that broke cover at the start of the year.

However it doesn’t even appear on the top related searches chart, which is topped by the Cherokee, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. Dodge was ranked third, with the Ram responsible for its high placement, along with searches for the Charger and Challenger, presumably the new SRT Hellcat having plenty to do with that. Next up is Toyota – unsurprising given the sheer weight of volume it shifts – with the Camry and Tacoma the top related searches for the Japanese carmaker. Rounding off the top 5 is General Motors. Sadly, this is not down to the awesome cars it released, like the Corvette Z06 or Colorado pickup.

Instead, it was a result of the spectacular number of recalls it has made this year. The rest of the top 10 most Googled automakers were Subaru (Outback), Honda (Accord), Nissan (Altima), BMW (X5) and Tesla (Model S).
