This One-Off BMW XM By G-Power Is An Exercise In Opulence
The BMW XM sporty sorta-flagship SUV has been controversial from its debut a couple of years ago, offering impressive performance figures on paper behind a face only a mother could love.

From the factory, the XM comes in debatable styling options, with various metallic feature options in different satin or dark or chrome finishes, with massive matching wheels. It's certainly bold, but sales of the model so far have been fairly tame, though it's not clear what volume BMW even anticipated initially for such an expensive proposition.

Perhaps that's why we haven't seen too many tuners take on the XM with custom options and looks, at least until now. Mansory has a kit, and now G-Power has developed a one-off custom XM that elevates it to an even greater extreme.

G-Power Adds More... Power
To start off, the G-Power XM gets a performance tune to match its wild design approach. The SUV's ECU has been calibrated to boost the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 plug-in hybrid setup to 887 horsepower and 848 lb-ft of torque, powering all four wheels. The highest-output factory-spec XM Label makes only 738 hp by comparison. We'd wager that the stock 0-60 mph acceleration time has improved upon the standard 3.7-second figure, but G-Power hasn't timed it yet. Still, the max speed has now increased to 186 mph, six more than the most powerful stock model.

Other G-Power Upgrades
The G-Power XM rides on the tuner's own 23-inch diamond-cut five-spoke wheel design, which matches the two-tone outfit of the rest of the vehicle. While not confirmed, it seems like G-Power has taken Mansory's front clip offering for this one-off design, with a quad-stacked exhaust and custom diffuser at the rear. The stock roof spoiler has been replaced with a larger wing, and all the additional bits are made of carbon fiber, though it likely has little impact on overall weight. This XM is finished in an orange paint hue with black trim accents down the doors, along the vertical DRLs, and around the kidney grille. The taillights are also clear and smoked out for a darker look.

A Taste For German Cars
No specific interior modifications are mentioned, but the G-Power Facebook post claims the inside has been completely reworked. The orange color and so-called Hurricane wheels on this one-off suggest it's at least meant to resemble, if not directly correlate with, G-Power's lineup of tuned BMWs it dubs its Hurricane brand. You can get a previous-generation 2 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, and more, all tweaked to G-Power spec. It seems like the Germany-based outfitter mostly focuses on German models.

Up next, the company claims it will develop another one-off XM with even more power, targeting 1,000 horsepower, and it should also come with an upgraded so-called "Deep Tone" exhaust setup. Despite BMW XM sales climbing 15% in the first quarter of the year, it remains the lowest-volume model the brand sells anywhere, save for limited special editions like the recent Skytop and Speedtop examples. BMW sold nearly 30,000 more iX electric SUVs than it did XMs earlier this year, just to keep things in perspective.
