Toyota GT86 Sedan Gets the Go Ahead
Look out for a four-door GT86 sometime in 2015. While the GT86 convertible has yet to be green lit, an inside source has revealed the sedan variant has been given the thumbs up.

According to Auto Express, the GT86-based four-door saloon will have a 100 mm longer wheelbase and feature Toyota’s “keen-look” grille that attempts to mimic the shape of a Samurai sword. The GT86’s 200-hp 2.0-liter boxer engine will be offered alongside a Hybrid R powerplant rated at around 260 hp with up to 15 percent better fuel economy than its gas-powered sibling.

The insider also revealed the system would feature F1-styled KERS technology with energy recovered under braking sent to the rear wheels in short bursts. The Toyota GT86 sedan is slated for release in 2015. In the US, the same formula will be applied to the Scion FR-S, but there's no word on whether the third member of the triumvirate, the Subaru BRZ, will ever be rolled out in sedan form.
