The Toyota Hiace will continue in its fifth generation for at least a year. According to a report, Toyota will give the current Hiace an upgrade in Japan this December.

No concrete details about the new Toyota Hiace are available yet. Rumours are rife of safety equipment and engine improvements as a part of the upgrade. The Toyota Hiace is currently offered with 1TR-FE 2.0L petrol, 2TR-FE 2.7L petrol, 2KD-FTV 2.5-litre diesel, 1KD-FTV 3.0L diesel and 5L-E 3.0L diesel engines.
