Vivo Energy Mauritius: Poster Competition on Road Safety
Vivo Energy Mauritius Limited has extended the deadline for the poster competition on road safety until May 17 It is aimed at primary schools in Mauritius, Rodrigues and Agalega and aims to raise awareness on the prevention of road rage.

The poster competition on road safety held in the framework of the project "City Zen", a national initiative of Vivo Energy Mauritius Limited. This competition offers students think about the risks of traffic and behavior to favor their own protection and that of others.

Entries may be submitted without any theme, age or identity of specific characters. They will, however, be representative of the local context. As a guide, the posters may include the following topics: how to be a good citizen of the road, the child pedestrian, my bike and I caution parents, or on the road with my grandparents. The designs must be original works within the whole IP participants.

Each school will have to be placed in groups of three students (a student of Std III, a student of Std IV and Std V student) and a teacher. Twenty-five posters will then be selected by a jury to constitute a common pool of media communication. Three of them will be awarded by public vote. Internet users can vote by logging on to the official website of City Zen (www.citezen.mu)

A traveling exhibition is thus proposed to schools upon request from the school year in January 2014. Prices will be the key.

A second essay contest (script) for secondary schools, is also part of "City Zen." The 10 best essays will be designated by a jury and the authors proceed to the next step: selection by users of the five best essays. The winners will have the chance to develop their projects to fit the screen, depending on the 3D animation technique.

They will be admitted to a training academy in 3D animation and learn how to build their ideas and develop scenario synopsis. Once produced, the clips will be provided to the Ministry of Education and Human Resources as a support for any awareness campaigns.

Vivo Energy Mauritius Limited invites citizens to join a "Youth Declaration for Road Safety", launched on March 20. By signing the "Declaration" through www.citezen.mu, the signatories undertake to say no to risky behaviors that put their own lives and those of others at risk.
