Who would have ever thought the Volkswagen Beetle had it in it? Presenting the Beetle GRC rallycross car, a competition vehicle set to be driven by none other than Tanner Foust and Scott Speed at the Red Bull Global Rallycross championship later this year. Powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a total of an insane 544 horsepower, the Beetle GRC weighs just 2,668 lbs. That ridiculous amount of power is sent to all four wheels via a sequential six-speed automatic.
0-100 km/h will happen in just 2.1 seconds. Damn impressive. The exterior of the car has been outfitted with a set of 17-inch wheels along with a large rear wing, widebody fenders, and an aggressive front fascia. VW claims this is the ultimate expression of the third-generation Beetle, and features state-of-the-art technology. Production is unlikely, but never say never.
