Now, a new video from Red Bull Racing's YouTube channel saves you the trip and takes you into the nightlife and car culture of Japan, behind the wheel of a gorgeous white Honda NSX.
A Tour Of Japanese Car Culture
On our first stop with YouTuber Dino DC (on the official Red Bull Racing YouTube channel), we meet a few locals with custom cars, including a widened RX-7, a woman with a family of Nissan GT-R owners, and Akira, who tells us a childhood memory of a white Honda NSX with red badges, just as the one driven in the video.
We move on to the famed Daikoku parking rest area, which boasts probably the biggest group and variety of car culture that you can find in Japanese nightlife. We hear stories of car builds inspired by fathers, full of neon lighting but as they point out, retaining more of the original exterior shape of the car's design, just adding style. There also happens to be a friend of F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda in the crowd, which is a great coincidence, because that's who the video meets up with later.
From Engineering To Design
The video goes on to meet tuner Masahito Shinbori, whose shop was started by his father in the early 1990s and has been working on cars ever since, with one NSX in the shop still running on its 13th engine. We get ramen with Rocket Bunny designer Kei Miura-san and learn about his backstory and inspiration.
Then it's on to the F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda, who proclaims the white NSX in the video to be the best car he's ever seen. That's probably just faint praise for the video, considering the guy's "daily driver."
