Never forget the wheel, the invention that enabled humankind to move forward. By removing the wheels from some everyday cars it becomes blindingly clear they are essential to the look of a car.
French photographer Renaud Marion previously considered the idea of a world of wheelless cars, and now artist Sylvian Viau has revisited the notion with a set of levitating vehicles, selecting only his own and friends’ cars as subjects for his project. Although some cars look almost normal without wheels, particularly the Citroen, others are just plain wrong. While we’re fans of hoverboards, we’ll need more convincing over hover cars.
