Ahead of its reported September launch, the 2016 Hyundai Elantra has been spied testing yet again, courtesy carandbike.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra measures 4,570 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,800 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. For the Indian market, Hyundai could tweak the ground clearance of the sedan for poor road conditions.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra is expected to be launched in India with two engines: 2.0 MPI and 1.6 VGT. The 2.0 MPI is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 149 PS (146.90 hp) and 183 Nm of torque. This will likely be the base engine option. The 1.6 VGT is a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 136 PS (134.09 hp) and 306 Nm of torque. 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic should be the transmission choices offered.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra, when launched, will rival the Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia and VW Jetta.
