2016 Hyundai Tucson Spied Testing On Chennai Highway
A Motor Vikatan reader has snapped the 2016 Hyundai Tucson testing on the Chennai-Bangalore highway ahead of its launch which will take place by the festive season period this year.

The new Tucson made its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2016, and is billed as a premium SUV that will fill a gap between the Hyundai Creta and the Hyundai Santa Fe. At the tape, it measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,645 mm in height and 2,670 mm in wheelbase and comes with a 513 liter boot. The Tucson, unlike the Santa Fe, is a two-row 5-seat SUV.

With the new Tucson, Hyundai will be taking its ‘Modern Premium’ tagline even further. It is expected with features like 17-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, powered driver’s seat, ventilated seats, automatic wipers and headlights, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights and taillights, static cornering lights, sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen entertainment system with reverse camera and navigation, six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, keyless entry with push button start and vehicle stability management.

It is likely to be powered by a 2.0-liter CRDi diesel engine which is available in power outputs of 136 PS and 184 PS, and with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The engine displaces 1,995 cc, hence it will be unaffected by the ban on large diesel engines in NCR and Kerala.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is expected to assemble the Tucson at its Chennai plant from Korean-made CKD kits.
