The base Fortuner GX gets projector halogen headlamps, body coloured door handles, 17-inch steel wheels with all-terrain tyres, dot-type multi-information display (MID), six-way adjustable seat for the driver, four-way adjustable seat for the front passenger, urethane steering wheel and gear shift knob, chrome interior handles, and brown fabric seat upholstery.
The mid Fortuner GXL receives additional features like front fog lamps, privacy glass, chrome door handles, rear door trims, roof rails, 17-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, keyless smart entry and start, an intelligent manual transmission (iMT), paddle shifters, downhill assist control, and a 4.2-inch multi-function, coloured display.
The top-end Fortuner Crusade is loaded with automatic LED projector head lamps with auto levelling feature, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels with highway tyres, tailgate with memory function (to set opening height), eight-way electrically-adjustable driver seat, leather seat upholstery, woodgrain cabin trims, 220V accessory socket, automatic AC, and an infotainment system with satellite navigation and DAB+ digital radio.
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner is powered by the 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 174 hp (130 kW) and 450 Nm, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. There is a six-speed manual variant which comes with a retuned version of the same engine that generates a lower peak torque of 420 Nm.
