2018 Honda Step WGN Spada at the Tokyo Motor Show
The 2018 Honda Step WGN Spada went on sale in Japan just at the end of last month. Honda is showcasing the new minivan at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show.

The fifth-gen Honda Step WGN, introduced in early 2015, has received a facelift with the latest update. Things have changed substantially for the minivan's extra stylish Spada variant, which features a completely new front-end now. The 2018 Honda Step WGN Spada's face has incorporated a prominent three-tier grille that flows into the sharp-new LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs and LED active cornering lights.

Honda has also reworked the front bumper and offers LED front fog lights in the new model. At the rear, the company has changed the roof spoiler for a sportier styling. All in all, the Spada variant finally differs the way it should from the standard variant.

With the minor refresh, the Honda Step WGN has gained a hybrid powertrain option as well. It is the familiar i-MMD two-motor system that uses the 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and the H4 electric motor combination for spinning the wheels. The petrol engine produces 145 PS and 175 Nm of torque. The electric motor generates 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque. The hybrid variant's fuel economy rating (JC08 test cycle) is 25 km/l. The hybrid powertrain, borrowed from the Accord Hybrid, is available only in the Spada variant.

Before the minor refresh, the Honda Step WGN's entry-level B grade was not equipped with Honda Sensing, but now is. The safety suite is standard in the updated Step WGN. Adaptive Cruise Control now includes Low-Speed Follow function, in the Honda Step WGN Spada hybrid.
