2018 Mitsubishi Triton (facelift) spied up close in Australia
The 2018 Mitsubishi Triton was spied recently in Australia. Robert Pepper’s 4WD Handbook has posted these spy shots of the facelift.

The Mitsubishi Triton will gain a facelift with the MY2018 update. Its front fascia will incorporate design cues from the latest global Mitsubishi models: Mitsubishi Xpander and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Slimmer headlamps and upper grille, more pronounced outer-ends of the bumper, significantly larger lower air intake, more aggressive bumper and new front lighting setup are among the main changes at the front.

The new front lighting setup is similar to that of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, with headlamps and LED DRL on the top and fog lamps and turn signals, stacked vertically, positioned below them. Overall, the facelifted Mitsubishi Triton's front-end, particularly because of its brawnier bumper design and angular headlamps, looks more contemporary than the pre-facelift model. On the sides, the new model has squarish wheel arches instead of round ones. At the rear, the vertical lamps are new.

The pre-facelift Mitsubishi Triton is available in three cab styles: single cab, extended cab and double cab. Engine options include 4G64 132 PS 2.4L MPI petrol, 4D56 110 PS/128 PS/136 PS/178 PS 2.5L diesel and 4N15 181 PS 2.4L diesel. 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic are the transmission choices. Mitsubishi offers two different 4WD system options: Easy Select 4WD and Super Select 4WD-II. Changes to any of these aspects, if planned, are currently unknown.
