2018 Toyota Camry spied looking fierce, maybe a performance model on test?

Fresh shots of the 2018 Toyota Camry has revealed more on what could be under the hood of the next-gen model.
The car is shedding camouflage, and we're also able to spot some design details on the next iteration of Toyota's best seller.
The front-end of the 2018 Toyota Camry is consistent with the leaked next-gen NASCAR Toyota Camry, and features redesigned headlamps and new grille design. Save for the rear window shape, not much has changed on the sides. At the rear, redesigned lamps extend onto the quarter panels and there's a dual exhaust system. The latter, seen together with the notably low stance on the sides, hints that this car is a performance variant.
The next-gen Toyota Camry will be underpinned by the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) modular platform. To be specific, it will be the TNGA-C version that will be utilised for the redesigned Camry, and the same version will host the next-gen Corolla arriving towards the decade end.
Engine options planned for the North American-spec 2018 Camry will include a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit which could replace the current 3.5-liter V6 engine, paired to a CVT. A hybrid option is a certainty, and a diesel isn't.
The new Toyota Camry is not expected in India before late 2018.
