This will allow motorists from the south to use the exchanger to enter the capital and it will be for those coming from the opposite direction. A communiqué from the ministry of Public Infrastructure, National Development Unit, Land Transport and Shipping stated that the exchanger will be opened at 10.45 am.
According to sources from the Road Development Authority (RDA), the exchanger constructed at a cost of Rs 200 million will be fully operational in June. So far, around 85 per cent of the work has already been completed.
A roundabout will be constructed under the exchanger to allow road users to head toward Caudan. This interchange will improve access to the south and north of Port Louis.
The construction was delayed due to presence of the pipes of Wastewater Management Authority.
