That hasn’t come true yet, and Nissan itself recently acknowledged that there’s still plenty of life left in Godzilla. Point being, the R36 could still be a few years out, and we’re not at all complaining. Just look at the best GT-R you can buy today, the GT-R Nismo. It still has that wonderfully insane, hand-built twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6, but it’s been given a little kick in the form of large diameter high-flow turbochargers.

What that means is an additional 55 hp and 18 lb-ft of torque over the standard GT-R, for a grand total of 600 hp at 6,800 RPM and 481 lb-ft at 3,200 RPM.
