The all-new Mitsubishi Pajero has a sleeker and more modern design than the outgoing version. The front end boasts of the ‘Dynamic Shield’ design. The face gets slim headlights with LED DRLs, with a generous packing of chrome. The rear end houses vertical tail lights that stretch to the bumper.
The interior receives a more upmarket look and feel. On the inside, the occupants are greeted by a new four-spoke multi-function steering wheel, flowing centre console with silver trim on either side and leather upholstery for the seats. Features include a touchscreen infotainment system with optional “Multi-Around” camera system, automatic climate control and electric parking brake.
Powering the new all-new Pajero Sport is a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbo diesel engine which is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels through the Super-Select 4WD-II system that also has a new Off-road Mode and Hill Descent Control. Mitsubishi claims that the new vehicle is 17% more fuel efficient than the outgoing model and also has carbon emissions below the 200 g/km mark.
Blind Spot Warning system, Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM), Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS) and seven airbags are part of the Mitsubishi Triton-based SUV’s safety equipment.
