With a single platform, Mahindra has come up with two commuter motorcycles which are different in their appeal. While the Pantero attempts to lure price sensitive customers of the entry level commuter segment, the Centuro with its first-in-class features attempts to grab the attention of tech savvy customers who don’t mind paying a little premium for funky equipment.
The Centuro comes packed with a remote key with engine immobilizer and anti theft alarm system, fully digital instrument panel, Guide Me Home and Find Me lights. The sytling of the motorcycle shares nothing in common with the Pantero and the overall appearance is pretty decent.
The motorcycle is powered by the same MCI-5 110cc unit that powers the Pantero. The motor develops 8.5PS of power and 8.5 Nm of torque and is mated to a four speed gearbox.
Bikeadvice.in reports that, in spite of producting the same performance figures as the Pantero, the Centuro’s motor has been tweaked to improve the refinement.
The Mahindra Centuro will be locking horns with the likes of Hero Passion, Honda Dream Yuga and the Discover 100T.
