Mahindra XUV300 exports commence, shipped to South Africa
After launching the XUV300 in the domestic market in February, Mahindra has started exporting it. The first overseas destination is South Africa, where it was previewed to dealers last week.

Mahindra has started accepting pre-orders for the XUV300 in South Africa and will launch it there on the 22nd of this month. The company has a network of close to 60 dealers in the country. Like in India, the Mahindra XUV300 doesn't face a threat from the SsangYong Tivoli, from which it has been derived, in its first export market. It will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport, Mazda CX-3 and Renault Captur there.

Mahindra is offering the XUV300 in South Africa with both the engines - 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The former is a turbocharged three-cylinder unit that develops a maximum power of 81 kW (110 bhp) at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm of peak torque at 2,000-3,500 rpm. The latter churns out a maximum power of 85.8 kW (115 bhp) at 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm of peak torque at 1,500-2,500 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, and so is FWD drivetrain layout.

LED DRLs, LED tail lights, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, 4-wheel disc brakes, 7 airbags, front parking sensors and Hill Start Assist are the features confirmed for the South African-spec Mahindra XUV300 so far.

Mahindra is offering some promotional offers to early birds giving a warm welcome to the XUV300 in South Africa. The first 100 people pre-booking the SUV will get a fuel card worth ZAR 10,000 (INR 47,909.50) when they purchase it. The first 100 people signing up for a test drive will get a fuel card worth ZAR 2,000 (INR 9,581.90) when they purchase it. The company will also offer a grand prize worth ZAR 1,00,000 (INR 4,79,095.00) - a trip for two to India.
