From Midnight Tonight: Penalty, Point by Point
The Penalty Point System comes into force this Friday, May 10 In case of violation, drivers may penalty points. Exceed 15 points leads a "disqualification of the driver."

From tomorrow, the driver must have in his possession a copy of Driving Licence Counterpart to actual dimension and driver's license (blue). According to the Point Penalty System (PPS), the offenses are punished with penalty points ranging from 2 to 10.Once 15 points exceeded, the license is disqualified. The details are explained in the cases below, in consultation with the Inspector Mohit Ramah of the Traffic Branch.

• Scenario 1:
Use your phone while driving (2-4 points fine of Rs 1500)
A driver is on the phone and gets arrested by the police.

Option 1
The policeman gave him the opportunity to scoop a fixed penalty. He then gave him a fixed penalty notice which corresponds to a minimum penalty, 2 points. This is not the officer who determines the number of penalty points.
If option 1 is accepted, the officer submits a document that the driver must complete. This document (the Part B) is a recognition of wrong. The driver then has 21 days to report to the court clerk. It will then produce the original DLC, the original permit, and his original identity card as well as Part B.The driver sign of gratitude wrong, pay the fine (Rs 1500) and it is only then that an officer of the court adds many points DLC. It then enters the data into the computer system.

Option 2
The driver does not accept the fixed penalty notice. At this point, the officer takes contrary. The police is a file box and the offender will be summoned to court later (no time specified). But this time, it is the court that decides the penalty (2-4 points) and fine.

To remember
Accept Option 1 is the minimum number of points available for the offense. Deny the fixed penalty notice is to risk the maximum penalty at the discretion of the magistrate.

• Case 2:
Use of mobile (2-4 points) and passing vehicle at crosswalk (4-6 points)
The driver makes a double offense. As in the case of Figure 1, it can accept the fixed penalty notice. In the present case, it will bail the minimum penalty of the most serious offense, 4 points (lowest points in the HIGHEST range). It must nevertheless pay the fine for both offenses: a minimum of Rs 500 to Rs 1500 and exceeded for the use of mobile while driving. Administrative procedures in court are similar to the case of Figure 1.
If he refuses the fixed penalty notice, the police is a file box and it will be summoned to court later (no time specified). But this time, it is the court that decides the penalty (a maximum of 6 points) and fine.

• Scenario 3 (speed camera)
Speeding 25 km / h above the limit (points 2-4 and Rs 2,000 fine)
The driver is caught speeding by a speed camera. In a few days, he receives by mail a photographic enforcement device manual.
Option 1
Within 21 days, he went to court equipped with its DLC, his driver's license and his identity card. He admits his faults, sign and sees penalize two points. It sets a fine of Rs 2000.

Option 2
If it does not occur within 21 days, a file box is housed and it may be penalized to the maximum of the range as well as a fine.

"Disqualification"
Exceeding 15 points equivalent to a "disqualification" of the driver. A first "disqualification" of at least six months, involves a license suspension. The driver, after new "qualified", gets his license and zero the meter (note: however it is possible that it has a surplus of points accumulated points between the 15th and conviction in court So this residue. reported on its new DLC).
If the driver exceeds a second time 15 points, he is again "disqualified" for a period of at least six months, but his license is canceled. It may, however, apply for a new license after the period of "disqualification".

Collect the points
recovery for individual offenses is every 36 months from the date of a fixed penalty notice procedure or photographic enforcement device user or a conviction (not the date of the offense). Examples:
The driver gets 2 points on 1 June 2013 and 4 points again on August 31, 2013. A total of six points.
May 31, 2016, he gets 2 points. His total from 6 to 4 points. And August 30, 2016, it retrieves the remaining four points corresponding to the second sentence.

Learner
The learners - all types of vehicles - have allowed 10 points. Exception: If a car driver is applying for learner for two-wheelers, it will be 15 points.

Changes were made to the original project. The number 18 is a new measure. At number 6, the "prescribed lights the night" only concern "head lamps" (headlights). For example, a "lantern" defective involves no loss of points. However, it amounts to a fine.
Violations "very heavy" such as driving while intoxicated or manslaughter are excluded because the current legal provision exceeds the severity of the license.

FUZZY: dangerous and reckless driving
Both offenses dangerous and reckless driving are close. Technically, the difference is the element of danger, which depends on the environment of the vehicle. Example: the driver is speeding less than 25 km / h on the open highway. It will not be affected by the provisions of dangerous driving or reckless driving. For one, there is no immediate danger. Two, it does not seem to lead such "irresponsible." It is then subject to penalty for single speeding.
However, if the same driver is in excess of less than 25 km / h over the limit on the Royal Road near a school after school, it is likely to be in "dangerous driving" or "reckless driving."
