Motorists Driving In The Dark On The Southern Motorway

Despite the numerous complaints, motorists continue to drive in the dark on the southern motorway. The lamp posts which were stolen since June are still not repaired because of inadequate funds.
Dhananjaye Lalchand, the president of the southern council said that the engineers have estimated that about Rs 7 Million are needed to repair the lamp-posts. A request was made to the Ministry of Local Government so that it can provide the funds needed.
The southern council also had a meeting with the Central Electricity Board (CEB) and the traffic management but no solution was found.
