National Transport Corporation: two-year contract with Indian Oil to supply diesel
The company, Indian Oil (Mauritius), a subsidiary of Indian oil of the same name, won the jackpot on the award of contracts for the National Transport Corporation (NTC) and diesel for the next two years.

Indian Oil has actually won four of the five contracts at stake for five bus depots of the NTC. Shell was able to pull only one of the five contracts involved.

The value of the four contracts won by Indian Oil is around Rs 563 million out of Rs 689.6 million estimated at the beginning of the year. Shell was able to give itself a contract worth Rs 139.7 million. As mentioned above, this is only the purchase of diesel for buses of the NTC in its five garages spread across the island. 

As for the first lot, for the purchase by the NTC of 8 million liters of diesel for its filing the largest, that of Bonne Terre, Vacoas is Indian Oil who won the case for a amount of Rs 265.6 million. The oil companies Total and Shell were also interested. But Indian Oil has offered a discount of 81 cents per liter, which reduced its price to Rs 32.85 per liter, against Rs 33.04 for Shell. 

In the case of lot number two on the deposit of Forest-Side, Indian Oil Shell beat by a penny. It came at a price of Rs 33.05 post VAT Rs 33.06 against its competitor. Some 4.2 million liters of diesel were at stake for a sum of Rs 139 million. This is the Procurement Policy Office of the Ministry of Finance which led the whole exercise tenders and awarding contracts.
