National Transport Corporation: two-year contract with Indian Oil to supply diesel

Indian Oil has actually won four of the five contracts at stake for five bus depots of the NTC. Shell was able to pull only one of the five contracts involved.

The value of the four contracts won by Indian Oil is around Rs 563 million out of Rs 689.6 million estimated at the beginning of the year. Shell was able to give itself a contract worth Rs 139.7 million. As mentioned above, this is only the purchase of diesel for buses of the NTC in its five garages spread across the island.

In the case of lot number two on the deposit of Forest-Side, Indian Oil Shell beat by a penny. It came at a price of Rs 33.05 post VAT Rs 33.06 against its competitor. Some 4.2 million liters of diesel were at stake for a sum of Rs 139 million. This is the Procurement Policy Office of the Ministry of Finance which led the whole exercise tenders and awarding contracts.
