It's finally here! Ducati finally gave the Scrambler the makeover it so rightfully deserved, and it's coming to dealers in November, 2018. Ducati claims that the new Scrambler Icon, as the bike is called, is more contemporary, comfortable, and safe to ride than the old bike. It takes "Land of Joy" to even more joyful heights. So, what do you get with this new Scrambler update? We're glad you asked!
At first glance, you see the updated tank and sidecovers slathered in either Atomic Tangerine (orange) or '62 Yellow (uh, yellow) paint. The blacked-out 803cc L-twin Desmo is offset by brushed cylinder head fins and machine-finished wheels give it a fantastic, modern look that's enhanced by the gray seat and silver silencer. In all it's a much better looking machine than the previous Scrambler, if you can believe it.
The Icon isn't all style over substance, though. Indeed, the new bike gets a raft of safety and technological upgrades. LED lighting all around, self-cancelling turn signals, and improved switchgear are just the beginning. It also has improved seating ergos, better suspension, and a fancy-pants Bosch Cornering ABS system—a first in its class. it even has a hydraulic clutch with an adjustable lever to make the bike fit just right.
While there's a lot that's new with the 2019 Icon, it retains the same sense of fun and fiery, passionate soul that has informed Ducati's scramblers since they were introduced back in 2014. It's still the same old Scrambler Icon, just better in every way.
