Nissan's Townstar Karaok-e Wants You To Tap Into Your Inner Artist
Ever dreamed of a mobile karaoke experience? Probably not, as the local bar or the shower sound (pun intended) is a better place to tap into your inner singer. However, Nissan would beg to disagree, so it has just introduced the Townstar Karaok-e.

The model builds on the Evalia version of the minivan and it is an electric vehicle fitted with a 45 kWh battery that unlocks a total driving range of up to 187 miles (301 km). However, should you turn on each special feature and unleash your inner artist, you will travel far less on a full charge.

The reason is that this one-of-a-kind vehicle (more on this part in a few moments) is basically a karaoke machine on wheels. It is said to have materialized with two ideas as its core: wellbeing and happiness. Singing is known to reduce stress, produce endorphins, and boost dopamine levels, and the Japanese automaker probably believes there might be a niche for such a product.

But what is new, you ask? Well, it all starts on the outside, where the Nissan Townstar Karaok-e features a lively wrap enhanced by a couple of hashtags and its name that is proudly displayed on the sides and hood. The neon-like roof attachment is a clear indicator of the long-gone disco era and an interesting touch that further boosts the car's appeal if you ask us.

Nevertheless, it is on the inside where the action takes place. You see, the car manufacturer has taken advantage of the spacious interior with seven seats in the Townstar Evalia and has turned the vehicle into "a cutting-edge karaoke lounge" that is "capable of turning anyone into a singing sensation." One of the highlights is the 32-inch monitor display, joined by an integrated karaoke system and a serious audio with a power subwoofer.

According to the car manufacturer, performers can use Instant Sharing apps to personalize the interface design, watermarks, intros and outros. And if their performance is top notch, then they can share it with their close ones on their preferred social media channels courtesy of the GoPro that can record it all. The roof and cabinet lighting are synced with the music beat for a more immersive experience.

Overall, the new Nissan Townstar Karaok-e is a very interesting and rather unique proposal. But will it materialize? Well, the auto brand refers to it as being a one-of-a-kind ride that is unavailable to purchase. However, deep down, we think Nissan may be testing the waters, and depending on the feedback it receives, it might go the extra mile to make it happen if there's enough demand.
