Towards Harmonization of Speed Limits
The various speed limits on the highway will be reviewed and "harmonized" to facilitate the conduct of motorists. A committee will be established shortly to review the system. A necessity with the entry into force of penalty points and 'speed cameras'.

Many motorists experience it every day. Via the motorway, they roll first at 110 km / h, then a little further to 60, then 80, then 90 km / h. The "changes" that bothers the highest point drivers, especially since the entry into force of penalty points and new speed cameras, even if they are temporarily non-operational.

"On the highway, straws Riche-Terre, there are several variations of this type. It is almost impossible to go from 90 to 60 km / h in a few meters," fumed a motorist. A problem that motorists ask the Ministry of Public Infrastructure to react.

Next week, a committee will be established to review the whole system of existing limitations on the various sections of motorway. This committee will include representatives of various bodies: Traffic Management and Road Safety Unit (TMRSU), Road Development Authority or police force, among others. "We plancherons on harmonization of the whole system and the best possible solutions," said Dr. Kaushik Reesaul, Principal Engineer at TMRSU. In this context, the officers responsible should make changes to the Road Traffic Regulations Speed.

Another aspect on which the committee will consider: the work on the roads. In this case, the rate has slowed considerably, sometimes up to 40 km / h. The problem is that these signs speed limit (yellow) are not removed by the contractors after the work is completed. To do this, the GDR and local communities will be involved, says Dr. Kaushik Reesaul.

Motorists will have some respite, time to end the testing of new speed cameras. Since Tuesday, they flashent motorists speeding, no fine will be issued, however. As 485 motorists flashed since they came into operation on May 10, he will return to the DPP to decide whether to pay a fine or not.
