Toyota C-HR spied in Japan
The Toyota C-HR has been spied testing in Japanese roads ahead of its global rollout this year. The Toyota C-HR has been reported to go on sale in the UK towards the end of this year and in Japan on 14 December.

The North American-spec Toyota C-HR is yet to debut, but is officially confirmed to go on sale in the U.S. and Canada in Spring 2017.

Previewed by two concepts in consecutive years, the Toyota C-HR was introduced in production form at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and is its second model to be based on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) modular platform after the Toyota Prius.

The Toyota C-HR measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width and 1,555 mm/1,565 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. It will be available in three variants: 1.2 petrol, 2.0 petrol and 1.8 hybrid. The 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine develops 85 kW (116 PS) and 185 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is good for 110 kW (150 PS) and 193 Nm of torque.

The Toyota C-HR hybrid uses a 1.8-litre petrol engine which produces 72 kW (98 PS) and 142 Nm of torque and combines it with an electric motor which generates 53 kW (72 PS) and 163 Nm of torque. The 1.2 petrol will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission and a continuously variable transmission with all wheel drive, while the 2.0 petrol will have only a CVT.

As for the hybrid variant, there's a standard configuration – electronic continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive.
