oyota will launch a new mini-MPV called Toyota Calya in Indonesia later this year. The new mini-MPV was leaked just over a month back in May, and now, it has been spied testing on the public roads, courtesy Autonetmagz.

The Datsun Go+ rival will be a Low Cost Green Car in Indonesia.

The Toyota Calya is based on the Toyota Ayga hatchback, which is also sold as the Daihatsu Ayla, as per Indonesian media reports. It will be positioned below Toyota Avanza, which is also sold as the Daihatsu Xenia. Unsurprisingly, there will be a Daihatsu twin also, dubbed Daihatsu Sigra. The latter’s exterior and interior has already been seen in leaked images.

The Toyota Calya and Daihatsu Sigra will measure 4,070 mm in length, 1,600 mm in width and 1,655 mm in height, and have a wheelbase of 2,525 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. The latter will have a design inspired by the Daihatsu UFC-3 concept, with some cues borrowed from the Daihatsu Ayla and Daihatsu Xenia.

Both, Toyota Calya and Daihatsu Sigra will be available with two engines. The base engine will be the 1KR-FE 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 67 PS and 89 Nm of torque, and it will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The bigger engine will be the 3NR-FE 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol unit developing 88 PS and 108 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and be available with a 4-speed manual transmission optionally.
